Situaţia este alarmantă la centrala din Zaporojie, avertizează directorul Agenţiei Energiei Atomice
Situația de la centrala nucleară ucraineană din Zaproojie s-a deteriorat rapid până în punctul în care a ajuns „foarte alarmantă””, a avertizat șeful Agenției Internaționale pentru Energie Atomică (AIEA), la o reuniune a Consiliului de Securitate al ONU, care a avut loc joi seara la New York, relatează Politico.
„Aceste acțiuni militare în apropierea unei instalații nucleare atât de mari ar putea duce la consecințe foarte grave”, a declarat directorul general al AIEA, Rafael Mariano Grossi.
Centrala a fost bombardată pe 5 august, provocând mai multe explozii în apropierea tabloului electric și o întrerupere a energiei electrice, a adăugat el. De asemenea, au avut loc bombardamente la o stație de oxigen cu azot.
În timp ce pompierii au stins incendiul, reparațiile trebuie încă examinate și evaluate, a declarat Grossi în cadrul reuniunii, care a fost solicitată de Rusia.
Uzina se află sub controlul trupelor Moscovei din martie, dar este operată de personal ucrainean. Potrivit Ucrainei, aproximativ 500 de soldați ruși și 50 de utilaje grele, inclusiv tancuri, sunt staționate la fața locului.

Până în prezent, Kievul a împiedicat AIEA să viziteze centrala nucleară. La reuniunea de joi, reprezentantul Kievului a declarat că retragerea trupelor rusești este singura modalitate de a elimina amenințarea nucleară.
Președintele ucrainean Volodymyr Zelenskyy a subliniat, de asemenea, că centrala ar trebui să revină sub control ucrainean, subliniind că „acesta este un interes global, nu doar o nevoie ucraineană”.
